FAQs
Do you offer mold inspection and testing, and can it be added to a home inspection?
Yes, mold inspection and testing can be added to a home inspection, and it's a great time to get it done before you move in (radon testing will also be available once we're certified). You don't need a full home inspection to get mold testing, either. We offer complete mold inspection and lab testing as a standalone service. If mold is found, our role is to identify it and pinpoint its location as closely as possible, though sometimes it's hidden behind walls or other permanent structures and can't be precisely located. We don't perform mold removal or cleanup ourselves, but we can help connect you with a qualified remediation service in the area.
Do I need to be there for the inspection, and how long does it take?
You're welcome to attend, and we encourage it. It gives you a chance to ask questions and get answers in real time. That said, it's not required, and we send a detailed report either way. A typical home inspection takes about three hours, though it can run shorter or longer depending on what we find. Mold inspections generally take 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the scope of testing needed.
Can I get an inspection before I list my house?
Yes, we offer pre-listing home inspections. This gives you the chance to address any issues that could slow down or hold up the selling process before your property ever hits the market.
